Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5, 1956, at Woodland Hills California. Her father taught in the school system and her mother was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick started dancing and singing at an early age and often performed show-like puppets in front of the children from her neighborhood. When she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was just 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see if McCormick wanted to get into the entertainment industry. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her first big performance in 1964 on an tv commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in an additional firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was quickly selected for her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 200 auditioned kids, played the third of three head-to-head daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) which starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The series lasted 5 years. McCormick said in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having ended her relationship in the fifth season in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother. He was 19. She was 16. The incident could have occurred, she told me, but the timing wasn't right for us.
